The ESC successfully manages customers drilling fluid requirements with existing inventory. GEE’s ESC enables mud plant operators to use existing inventory to create a low LGS spec drilling fluid.

The Situation

Mud plants continually balance their inventory, storage capacity and requirements to clients for clean, in spec drilling fluid. This often requires vast quantities of fluid to use as dilution to reduce the LGS within the mud.  This dilution drives inventories higher, while putting continued pressure on storage capacity and management systems.

The Solution

Ground Effects  Electro Separation Cell (ESC) technology can solve LGS issues eliminating the need for dilution.  The ESC uses electrokinetics to destabilize the bonds within the OBM emulsion and separates out the LGS, leaving high quality drilling fluid.  The ESC is a continuous process, allowing operators to consistently maintain target LGS without the use of traditional solids control equipment or the need for dilution.

The use of  existing inventory at mud plants without having to add to it, significantly reduces the overall burden of current high LGS muds on the books.  The use of ESC substantially reduces the costs versus that of dilution.

The Results

Mud Plants use ESC Technology to treat their existing inventory mud on a per barrel basis.

  • Zero Increase in inventory
  • Zero chemical or oil added
  • Significant cost savings
